Todd and I continue our conversation about digging around our spiritual roots. In 2015 God challenged me to apply that word in my own life.
Last week we talked about how Todd and I both encountered the work of the Holy Spirit early in our walk with Jesus. If you have questions about the work of the Holy Spirit I encourage you with a challenge that was given to me in my 20s. Look up and read every scripture in God’s word on the Holy Spirit and ask Him to reveal the truth about who He is.
Todd shares early in their marriage how he and Darlene would cry out to the Holy Spirit as our Helper. They asked Him to provide financially on multiple occasions when they didn’t have two nickels to rub together. God would always come through! They didn’t tell people they were struggling so when a bag of groceries would end up on their doorstep they knew God was looking out for them.
In October of 2015 I went back to Mexico in response to God’s word to dig around our roots. I had the privilege of taking two of my sons, Seth and Steven, with me. God divinely orchestrated our trip to allow us to connect with so many people.
When we worked in Mexico from 1993 to 1998 our focus was, “To equip and mobilize the Body of Christ to reach the unreached.”
Our hosts for our trip in 2015 were Tim and Roberta Rovenstine. One day about a dozen of us had just finished a meal around their table and we went around sharing our dreams. When it got to me I hadn’t prepared what to say but the words that came out were, “I want to be a father to 1000s who equip and mobilize the Body of Christ to reach the unreached.”
God took the root from the 90s and put a whole new vision for fruitfulness on it. Even this video podcast is an expression of that.
Paul told Timothy, “Stir up the gifts that are in you through the laying on of my hands.” This week I encourage you to offer the gifts that God has placed in you back to Him.
