Today we jump in to a new series with my friend Jared Scholz.  Jared is a preacher, song-writer, and author of the newly released book, “Sandbox to Museum: What to do when the faith you knew doesn’t work for you anymore.”  Jared loves Jesus, life, and his family and has been in the trenches making disciples for over two decades.  He is also the pastor at Greenhouse Church in Lawrence, Kansas.

Jared has an abundance of wisdom from stepping towards Jesus and towards people.  He has done his best to ask God questions and apply God’s word on the journey of life and has experienced both joy and pain.  Discipling others in real time is not a theoretical idea for him.  He lives it daily.

In future episodes we will talk with Jared about his definition of a disciple, how disciples are made, and some insights from his book.

But before we do all of that we want to remind you that discipleship if primarily relational – so in this first episode watch the video and hang out with me and Jared and listen in on his story.  After Jared came to know Jesus he says, “Within those years, 16, 17, 18 I just started discipling people without knowing that’s what I was doing.  I just knew I loved Jesus and I knew the scriptures came alive to me and I wanted everyone to experience that.”

This week ask yourself, “What is there about my relationship with Jesus I want others to experience?”

About 15 years ago our heavenly Father began encouraging me in my role as His son and out of that in my role as a father, both biologically and spiritually. Through multiple encounters on my journey God has revealed His heart as my Father and affirmed my sonship in Him. Out of this has come His call to fully embrace who He has created me to be as a father and to share that with others.
