In this episode Steve and Bob continue their conversation on gratefulness.  Steve jumps in with the question, “If you could have a superpower, what would it be?”

Gratefulness is like a superpower.  Gratefulness is a hinge on which heavy doors turn.  It’s a timeless truth.  Squeeze the idea of gratefulness for every ounce that is in it.  Gratefulness will change your perspective on life.

Throughout scripture we are instructed to give thanks.  The power of gratefulness (of the lack of it) is emphasized in Romans 1 where it describes the downward spiral of man in his depravity.  In the middle of this it says in verse 21a, “Even though they knew God they didn’t honor Him as God or give thanks.”

When we are not in a place of gratefulness we are out of position with God.  Gratefulness has a huge place in our spiritual warfare.  It also washes away distortion in our communication with God and tunes us in to hear His voice.

Is it possible to be grateful after blowing an engine twice?  Watch the video to hear Steve’s story about being camped out in a dirt parking lot of a truck stop in Mexico.

Ask the Holy Spirit today, “Is there someone in my life I should write a letter of thanks to . . .maybe a parent, a teacher, or a mentor?  Once He shows you someone, step out and make it happen.

About 15 years ago our heavenly Father began encouraging me in my role as His son and out of that in my role as a father, both biologically and spiritually. Through multiple encounters on my journey God has revealed His heart as my Father and affirmed my sonship in Him. Out of this has come His call to fully embrace who He has created me to be as a father and to share that with others.
