Over the last several weeks Steve and Bob have discussed calling and serving. Today they dive into faithfulness. Faithfulness is connected to finding our place in kingdom service because God is calling faithful men and women.
Jesus said, “He who is faithful in little will be faithful also in much.” And in Matthew 25 he shows that the “good and faithful servant” is one who multiplies what has been entrusted to him. The beauty of both serving and faithfulness is that it doesn’t take some advanced degree to understand what it looks like or how to do it.
Faithfulness is about the now moment, not some day in the future. God is measuring our faithfulness right now, with whatever is already in our hands. Oren Paris used to say, “The key to my future is my present day faithfulness.” God releases and promotes and opens doors for the faithful.
Being faithful include being consistent and disciplined but it also includes living by faith and being full of faith. It is an awareness that God is there and this activity is unto Him. He is always with me.
Steve will declare to God as he prepares to serve, “I want to be faithful with every opportunity. But apart from all of that, if I can have fellowship with you as Your son, that is the best.”
We encourage you to pray with us, “Here am I Lord. By grace I purpose to be faithful with everything you have placed in my hands. Show me what it means to be faithful over the things already in my hands. I embrace this as an opportunity to draw near to You. Amen.”
