Today we address the issue of regret in our parenting. We can’t give into regret. We can’t go back.
However, sometimes it is appropriate to ask our kids for forgiveness. As parents we give our whole heart to parenting and go for it. In the process we are going to make mistakes. We will fail at times. A key part of any stage of the parenting journey is being ready to humble ourselves and ask our children to forgive us.
You may think you are late to the party. Maybe you didn’t come to Jesus until your kids were grown. There may be things you wish you knew a long time ago. Lean 100% into the redemptive nature of God. Trust fully in Him. He has the power to redeem all things.
We live in a spiritual realm. We know it conceptually but we struggle to recognize it. The Bible says we walk by faith, not by site. We are spiritual beings. Our “natural” decisions to do things like saying thank you and giving to others impacts the spiritual realm. Recognize the connection between the two.
Be intentional as a parent to engage in the eternal. Model worship, model time in the word, model saying thank you and being generous. Speak the word, then live it, day in and day out. This simple obedience is the bull dozer work that advances the Kingdom of God.
This week, recognize the redemptive power of God in your life and your parenting. Be positive and praise God for where you are at.
