Today we continue our conversation about key people in the Christmas story with my good friend Christian Shelton.

Once again we find the angel Gabriel appearing, this time to the young virgin Mary.  We explore some of the ways Mary’s faith was built by Gabriel and other things she witnessed in her first months of pregnancy.  Gabriel tells Mary she will become pregnant by the Holy Spirit coming upon her.  As impossible as this is, he encourages her that God is already doing miracles in her family.  Gabriel shares how her relative Elizabeth, the one who is called barren, is already six months pregnant.

So Mary goes to visit Elizabeth.  Is it really possible that Elizabeth is pregnant? And if that has happened then maybe she could be pregnant too.

Watch today’s video for more thought provoking insights about:

  • what else Mary saw and experienced as the supernatural realm invaded the natural realm with the coming of Jesus.
  • why the genealogies of Jesus in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 are different.

Then read Luke 1:26-56; 2:1-7 and ask the Holy Spirit for further revelation.

About 15 years ago our heavenly Father began encouraging me in my role as His son and out of that in my role as a father, both biologically and spiritually. Through multiple encounters on my journey God has revealed His heart as my Father and affirmed my sonship in Him. Out of this has come His call to fully embrace who He has created me to be as a father and to share that with others.
