Today we jump in to a new series.  I will share with you from the Word and from my personal experience about talking with God.

I have chosen that title intentionally because God wants to have relationship with all of us.  He wants to talk with all of us.  He is sovereign.  He is Creator.  He is the Lord of the universe.  Yet He wants a relationship with us and that requires two-way communication.

We are not using the word “prayer” because that has come to have a very narrow meaning for many of us.  It can conjure up thoughts of reciting words to God, whether saying the Lord’s prayer, a blessing at a meal, or bringing our lists of requests.  Though this is not necessarily wrong in and of itself, it doesn’t begin to touch the depths of the intimate relationship our Father wants with us.

God speaks today!  He speaks directly with each of us.  When we believe He is speaking with us we need to see if it lines up with His Word, the Bible, and we need to get wise counsel from others.

So, how is your relationship with Jesus today?   How is your communication with Him?

Watch the video to see how God establishes divine communication with men and women starting with Adam and Eve.   That desire has never changed!

I just want to speak to any area of your heart where there is pain.  A number of you feel like you don’t hear God on a regular basis.  If that is you, stick with me.  Even when Adam and Eve sinned God is still speaking with them.  Even when Cain sins God still speaks with him.

In the coming weeks I trust you will grow in your confidence that God loves you, is for you, and is speaking to you.  My prayer is you will grow in hearing God’s voice more clearly.

Ask God this week, “Would you give me ears to hear what you are saying to me?”  He will be faithful to respond.

About 15 years ago our heavenly Father began encouraging me in my role as His son and out of that in my role as a father, both biologically and spiritually. Through multiple encounters on my journey God has revealed His heart as my Father and affirmed my sonship in Him. Out of this has come His call to fully embrace who He has created me to be as a father and to share that with others.
