Today we continue our conversation about dealing with things in our lives that keep us from freely loving God and loving others.
- Are we loving ourselves? Do we accept God’s opinion of us?
- Are we filled and being filled with the Spirit?
It’s hard to love others if we don’t recognize our own value. What is God’s opinion of us? How does He value us? We must look to the written word for that.
We are image bearers of God. We have a unique intrinsic value as a human being because of that. We need to be washed with the truth of who God says we are and confess it. We can then see ourselves and others more clearly and relate to them per their value, not their actions.
Romans 5:5 says, “The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.” Loving God and loving others is a work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
