We are on week four of a series where we have been looking at the amazing concept that God, the Clean One, makes the unclean clean.  And now as His ambassadors we get to do the same!

Today, we look at I Peter 1:13, “Gird up the loins of your mind and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”  Are you resting fully on the grace we have in Jesus?

Jesus didn’t pay for us with gold or some other material thing.  No!  He paid for us with His very blood.  In Revelation 5 we read that no being was found worthy in heaven or earth to open the scroll.  But yet there is one who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose it’s seals – who is this one?  “The Lamb of God, who stood as one who has been slain.”

Then turning over to Revelation 21:3 it says, “Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them. . .vs. 9  Come I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” God could have said, “The Kings wife or the Lord’s wife, but instead he refers to us the Lamb’s wife.  Pause and consider the significance of that.

Going on to verse 14 it says on the wall of the city were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.  What an amazing picture of the mercy, of the perfecting work, the sealing work, the cleansing work of the blood of Jesus Christ.

The last verse of Ch. 21:27 says, “There shall by no means enter it anything that defiles or causes an abominatio or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life”   Yes, it is the King’s Book of Life, the Lord’s Book of Life but He chooses to refer to it as Lamb’s Book of Life.

Submitted your life to Jesus!  And when you do, whether for the first time or the 1000th time, lean 100% on the finished work of Jesus!  Lean fully on His grace.  This week, rest with me in the fact that we are sons or daughters of the Lamb!

About 15 years ago our heavenly Father began encouraging me in my role as His son and out of that in my role as a father, both biologically and spiritually. Through multiple encounters on my journey God has revealed His heart as my Father and affirmed my sonship in Him. Out of this has come His call to fully embrace who He has created me to be as a father and to share that with others.
