In this episode Bob and Steve share word pictures about the preparation that is involved in producing fruit.  Contrary to popular belief we were not designed to produce fruit 24/7.

Part of the preparation for producing fruit is plowing.  God wants to plow up the fallow ground of our hearts so that our roots can go deep in Him.

Being faithful stewards of our mission and ministry is important.  However, we must hold those things with an open hand because the big picture is the Kingdom of God.  Our ministries will cease.  The Kingdom will continue.  Therefore we embrace a heart attitude towards Jesus that says, “This is about Your kingdom, not my ministry.  I say yes to You and whatever is needed in Your kingdom at any time.  I do ministry for Your pleasure and Your glory.”

Understanding our season is important as well.  Choose to stay connected with others who are a little further down the road in life.  Many times they can help you understand your season and give you wisdom on how to embrace it when you wish you were in a different one.

Anything in nature has a season of fruitfulness that is usually only 1 to 3 months out of the year.  And even though radishes can be harvested in as little as 3 weeks the sweetest “fruit” like apples can take 7 years to produce.

We encourage you to apply the truths shared today by:

  • Embracing preparation.
  • Asking God to help you understand your season.
  • Positioning yourself according to the season you are in and taking full advantage of it.

Bob Swank

About 15 years ago our heavenly Father began encouraging me in my role as His son and out of that in my role as a father, both biologically and spiritually. Through multiple encounters on my journey God has revealed His heart as my Father and affirmed my sonship in Him. Out of this has come His call to fully embrace who He has created me to be as a father and to share that with others.
